I did not experience this when I installed the App on a Windows 11 desktop. Each time I close the app, it will require a sign in when open again. Hovering over each individual chat in the main screen will also bring up a small arrow for that particular chat, offering a couple more options. WhatsApp on Desktop keeps logging out and require sign in each time it is closed.
